Franchising has developed extensively in Egypt over a short time, specifically in the fast-food sector. There are over 60 international franchisee companies in Egypt at present, roughly half of which are American food franchises. Market sources expect the growth to continue at an annual rate of 10-20% over the coming years.  The current food franchise market size is estimated at more than $300 million.

The non-food franchising sector is now gaining popularity, and has large market potential. A limited number of companies in the fields of retail, hotel management, car rental, language education, health and fitness, electronics, and computer training are currently franchised in Egypt.
